Bowl for the Cure® is a year-round fund-raising and breast cancer awareness initiative
sponsored by The Bowling Foundation and The United States Bowling Congress in partnership
with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a foundation that has raised over $1 billion as
the world’s largest grassroots organization of breast cancer survivors and activists.
Since the initiative’s inception in 2000, people from across the country have hit
the lanes to raise close to $8 million for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and its
affiliates.
February is considered Bowl for the Cure month although events are encouraged year-round.
Participants across the nation organize Bowl for the Cure® events, often designating
one bowling session to donate a specific amount, such as one penny per pin, or by
staging pledge nights, raffles and auctions. Whether on a large or small scale,
each donation helps make a difference.
