USBC members challenged to raise $1 million for Bowl for the Cure this season

Last season, USBC members across the country raised more than $1 million for Bowl for the Cure. Can they best that figure this season? Now's the time to act: February is Bowl for the Cure month.

Bowl for the Cure is a nationwide fund-raising initiative organized by USBC in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Since the program's inception in 2000-01, USBC members have raised more than $6 million, earning USBC a spot in Susan G. Komen for the Cure's "Million-Dollar Council" along with KitchenAid, M&Ms, Yoplait and others.

Proceeds from local Bowl for the Cure events stay in the local community, directly benefiting the community's Susan G. Komen for the Cure Affiliate in their efforts to support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

USBC leagues across the nation organize Bowl for the Cureevents in February, often designating one bowling session to donate a specific amount, such as one nickel per pin. Some USBC associations stage larger events like tournaments or bowl-a-thons.

Bowl for the Cure is a fun way to involve the entire community in a great sport while raising funds for a great cause. Help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
